A Eureka Springs man was killed and another man left in critical condition after a wreck on Arkansas 23 Monday night. It was a two vehicle accident that happened about 3 miles south of Eureka Springs.

Mark Brogan, age 54, was driving a 1994 Ford truck south on AR 23 and crossed the centerline and hit a 2002 Ford Explorer head on. The Ford Explorer was driven by Ernest Henry, age 65, and his wife, Jane Henry, age 60.

Mark Brogan was freed from the rumble and transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. Ernest Henry was transported to Washington Regional Medical Center where he is in critical condition. His wife, Jane, was transported to Northwest Medical Center and was in better condition than her husband.

It is unknown why Brogan crossed the center line at this time; however a thorough investigation may reveal the possibilities. Hopefully, the Henry family will heal rapidly and their medical bills will not be too high as a result of this head on accident.
